Inspiring Teachers’ Day Celebration Honours Educators at Don Bosco, Davanagere

Don Bosco Davanagere commemorated Teachers’ Day with vibrant cultural performances and heartfelt tributes on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The event honoured the pivotal role educators play in mentoring youth and shaping society.

The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a floral tribute to the portrait of philosopher-statesman Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Key leadership and staff shared memorable insights during the formal ceremony:
Rev. Fr. Arun Kumar (Administrator): Emphasized that true educators leave an enduring legacy, noting, “Teachers teach us how to live in society. An ideal teacher remains a lifelong source of inspiration.”
Rev. Dr Fr. Nidhin (Sujyothi Don Bosco, Alurhatti): Highlighted the transformative impact of teaching, stating, “Those who educate children well are more to be honoured than parents, for these only gave life, those the art of living well.”
Seemabanu (Teacher Representative): Highlighted the noble calling of educators, calling teachers “the true builders of society who guide students toward the right direction in life.”

The event also featured life reflections on Dr. Radhakrishnan by Mr. Dinesh, a student address by Nandish Angadi and a special musical rendition by Rev. Fr. Reji Jacob (Rector).

Students expressed their gratitude through dynamic cultural showcases, followed by a formal felicitation where women educators and tuition teachers across Jagaluru Taluk were honoured with gifts and mementoes for their dedicated service.

The programme was seamlessly compered by Honnappa M., with a prayer song by Srinivas B., a welcome address by Nataraj N., and a vote of thanks by Sunil H. The celebration concluded on a joyful note, reaffirming Don Bosco’s commitment to honouring its guiding lights.
