Overview
A Special Eye Camp was successfully conducted at Halekalu PHC with the support of SS Hospital, Davangere. The event registered 56 participants, offering comprehensive eye checkups, blood pressure monitoring, and health counseling. The medical team included Dr. Asha Latha, Dr. Asha Deepa, Dr. Theerthanemi, Dr. Thrisha and technical staff from the Mobile Clinic Project.
Community Outreach
Prior to the camp, awareness drives were held in villages such as Naravenahalli, Chikkarekere, Sagalagatte, Herearakere and Halekalu, encouraging residents to attend. Seventeen patients were transported by the Mobile Clinic vehicle to ensure accessibility.
Impact
Eight patients were referred for free eye surgery at SS Hospital, while others received eye drops and medical advice. The initiative strengthened community trust and promoted preventive eye care among rural populations.
Conclusion
The Eye Camp Programme exemplified compassionate healthcare and collaboration between institutions. The dedication of doctors and volunteers brought hope and healing to many, reaffirming the mission of serving the underprivileged with dignity and care.
