Vision, Mission and Objectives

Don Bosco Child Labour Mission recognizes the phenomenon of child labours as a distressing reality caused by illiteracy and other social evils. We educate the poor children to have bright future. The main aim is to restore the lost childhood of the child labourers and let them free from the shackles of labour by educating and rehabilitating them.

For the last 3 years, in partnership with KINDERMISSIONSWERK and Don Bosco Mission Germany, DBCLM has successfully implemented a project called “Empowerment of Community for Child Labour Eradication in 15 villages of Jagalur Taluk, Karnataka, India. This project has significantly helped to prevent child labour and school dropouts in this project area. The strategies and activities adopted in the project are in the best interest of the child and have been very effective to achieve the aims of the project.

DBCLM has two rehabilitation centres through which prevention, rescue and rehabilitation services for the street and working children are provided. 2,180 children were successfully settled in their life so far, i.e. 1996 to 2018.
