Promoting Community Wellness: Health Awareness Camp at Kurudi Village
Date: 22nd September 2026
District: Davangere
On September 22, 2026, the Mobile Clinic Project team from Don Bosco Child Labour Mission, Davangere, organized an impactful Health Awareness Session in Kurudi Village. The initiative reached 24 local residents: 19 women and 5 men - focusing on vital community health topics: Thyroid Disorders and Jaundice.
Through interactive visual aids, placards and informational handouts, Sr. Lavina D’Cunha (Health Worker), educated attendees on thyroid dysfunctions, highlighting symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes and cold sensitivity. She emphasized the importance of balanced diets, routine exercise and bi-annual medical check-ups.
Following this, Mrs. Roopa K.A. (Nurse) shed light on jaundice, explaining its causes; including contaminated food and water - and key symptoms like yellowing of the eyes and skin. She shared practical preventive care tips, advocating for covered drinking water, fresh dietary habits and timely infant vaccinations.
The active participation and positive feedback from the villagers reflect our ongoing commitment to grassroots health education and rural empowerment. Together, we are building healthier, more informed communities!
