A medical camp and awareness programme on Asthma and Dengue was organized by the mobile clinic team in collaboration with Belichodu PHC. The camp ran from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM and was attended by 106 participants (44 male, 62 female).
Dr. Prasanth (MBBS) and Mr. Mallesh (CHO) led the sessions. The medical team conducted health check ups including BP and GRBS, distributed medicines and identified seven cases of diabetes and hypertension for follow up care.
Dr. Prasanth explained Asthma as a chronic condition marked by airway inflammation, wheezing, coughing and breathlessness. He emphasized medication, trigger avoidance and lifestyle management. Mr. Mallesh spoke on Dengue, a mosquito borne viral disease, highlighting symptoms such as high fever, rash and joint pain. He stressed preventive measures like eliminating stagnant water, using nets, repellents and maintaining hygiene.
Participants learned practical steps to protect themselves: wearing masks, keeping surroundings clean, consulting doctors promptly and adopting healthy habits. The villagers expressed gratitude, noting the lack of transport and medical facilities in their area. The programme was well received, fostering awareness and offering essential healthcare support.
