Venue: Mustigarahalli Village, Jagalur Taluk, Davangere District
Participants: 19 women

A special awareness programme was conducted to mark World Breastfeeding Week, focusing on the importance of breastfeeding and maternal nutrition. The session was organized by Belichodu Primary Health Centre and led by Mrs. Sundramma, ACHO, G.N.M.

The programme highlighted the multiple benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child, including improved immunity, bonding and longterm health. Mrs. Sundramma emphasized that breastfeeding mothers require a balanced diet rich in calories, protein, calcium, iron and vitamins to maintain their health and provide adequate nutrition for their babies. She encouraged participants to include fruits, whole grains, cereals, oatmeal and wholewheat bread in their daily meals, along with sufficient water intake.

The session created valuable awareness among the women, empowering them with practical knowledge to ensure healthy breastfeeding practices and better maternal wellbeing.
