A special Dental and Oral Health Awareness Camp was organized at Devikere High School by Belichodu Primary Health Centre in collaboration with Bapuji Hospital, Davangere and the Mobile Clinic Project. The programme was attended by 119 students (48 boys and 71 girls), along with school staff and health officials.

The camp began with registration, followed by dental checkups conducted by a team of doctors including Dr. Lakshmi Priya, Dr. Bhoomika, Dr. Chaitra, Dr. Davia, Dr. Bhuvan and Dr. Chaya. Students were examined class by class and 26 students were referred to Bapuji Hospital for further treatment of toothache, sensitivity and orthodontic needs. Dr. Bhuvan served as the resource person for the awareness session. He explained the importance of oral hygiene, demonstrated the correct brushing technique and advised students to brush twice daily, limit sugary foods, drink water after meals and visit a dentist every six months. Simple home remedies for toothache, such as rinsing with salt water and using cold compresses, were also shared. The camp created valuable awareness, provided immediate care and strengthened students’ understanding of dental health. The school community expressed gratitude for the initiative, which concluded with a lunch hosted by the teachers.
